Graduation season returns to ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ with hundreds of students celebrating their success at a series of ceremonies.
This year’s celebrations are particularly significant as they mark the first graduation ceremonies for the University’s new Chancellor, Julia King, The Baroness Brown of Cambridge DBE FREng FRS FMedSci, who will preside over the proceedings alongside Chief Executive and Vice-Chancellor Professor Dame Karen Holford DBE FREng.
Over 1400 graduates from around the world will attend events at the University’s ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ and Shrivenham campuses to celebrate their achievements.
Dame Karen said: "We proudly celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students as they reach this important milestone. Graduation is a time to reflect, reconnect, and celebrate all that our students have achieved together. I look forward to congratulating our graduates in person – their dedication and success make ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ incredibly proud."
Honorary Graduates 2025
Honorary degrees will be awarded to leaders in engineering, technology, business and environment:
· Professor Jim Al-Khalili CBE FRS HonFREng, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Physics, University of Surrey, quantum physicist, author and broadcaster
· Sanjay Kapoor, Entrepreneur, Advisor and Board Member
· Sir Richard Knighton KBE ADC FREng, Air Chief Marshal in the Royal Air Force (RAF)
· Professor Dame Angela McLean DBE FRS, Government Chief Scientific Adviser
· Kara Owen CMG CVO, British Diplomat, His Majesty's Ambassador (Designate) to Ireland
· Professor Julia Sutcliffe, Chief Scientific Adviser, Department for Business and Trade
· Dr Peter Thompson CBE FREng FInstP FRSC, Chief Executive Officer, National Physical Laboratory
