Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to access training and skills required for sustainable development not available in their home countries.

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are for candidates from eligible low and middle income Commonwealth countries, to undertake part-time taught Master’s study with UK universities while remaining in their home countries. Eligible countries can be found on the .

What it covers

This scholarship covers:

  • Full tuition fee for the Sustainability MSc starting in March 2027.
  • Successful scholars will be funded to attend two annual residentials at ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡.

Who can apply

To be eligible for a Commonwealth Distance Learning Master's Scholarship, applicants should:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person.
  • Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country.
  • Hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard. A lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience may be considered in certain cases.
  • Be unable to afford to study the programme without this scholarship.

Successful scholars will have reasonable costs covered to attend the two annual residentials.

̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ are particularly looking for scholars who are working in a sustainability role, and who have the passion and ability to drive sustainable change.

The course will begin in March 2027. If you are awarded this scholarship, this will replace any other scholarship awarded by ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡.
